Working closely with the Communications Coordinator and the Festival Assistant, the Social Media Intern will have the opportunity to assist in developing and executing social media strategies at our festival. This is a great opportunity to gain hands on experience and build your portfolio.
The right candidate is an extremely organized individual who loves film and culture. He/she should have experience creating action plans and in communicating effectively with our audiences using the following platforms (or willing to learn): WordPress, Facebook, Twitter, MailChimp, and Flickr as well as photo and video management.
The goal is to focus on building awareness of the film festival though social media, promotions, event planning, educational programming, and community outreach in order to increase attendance and involvement with aluCine’s programs.
Our social Media Intern must be an energetic individual that has a strong understanding of social media platforms (specially the ones mentioned above) and familiarity in developing a promotion strategy. He/she must be detail oriented and well organized with an ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast pace environment. It is key that our intern has an interest in marketing practices within the not-for-profit sector and that is willing to work in a cooperative environment committed to equity and non-discrimination. Knowledge of Spanish is an asset.
The Social Media Intern must commit from March 15, 2014 until two weeks after the film festival, April 15, 2014. Even though most of the work won’t require office hours, our Social Media Intern must commit to at least one weekly meeting at our office.
We do need full availability during the film festival (April 2-13, 2014).
