Southern Currents is a leading arts organization showcasing and supporting Latin American film and media arts in Canada. Through exhibitions, screenings, and community engagement, we elevate the visibility of Latinx artists while fostering cross-cultural dialogue.

Position Overview:

Southern Currents seeks a Sponsorship and Fundraising Coordinator to develop and execute sponsorship and fundraising strategies that support our programs and exhibitions. The ideal candidate is an experienced fundraiser with expertise in donor relations, corporate sponsorships, and a passion for arts and cultural initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sponsorship and fundraising campaigns to support Southern Currents' events and programs.

  • Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with potential sponsors, donors, and funding organizations.

  • Maintain and manage donor databases and sponsorship records.

  • Create compelling sponsorship packages and pitch presentations.

  • Planned and coordinated donor receptions and crowdfunding campaigns.

  • Work with the marketing team to develop promotional materials for fundraising efforts.

  • Monitor and report on fundraising performance, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fundraising, Marketing, Arts Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, sponsorship acquisition, or nonprofit development.

  • Proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and funding agencies.

  • Letters of recommendation 

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Experience in donor engagement strategies.

  • Knowledge of Latin American arts and culture is an asset.

  • Proficiency in Google and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel).

Compensation:

Compensation is commensurate with experience. This is a part-time contract position with flexible hours.
